Learning in the Real World

Children respond so positively to seeing their learning applied to the real world. We place a great emphasis on taking them on educational trips, to museums, art galleries, theatres and field trips. Further up the school, we take them on residentials and outward bound trips.

  • Peak District (Hartington) residential (Year 4 science, geography, outward bound)
  • Peak District (Longdendale) field trip (Years 5/6 geography)
  • The Lowry (Year 6 art)
  • Peter Herd’s Bakery (Year 6 DT)
  • West Park Museum Egyptian Experience (Year 3 history)
  • Manchester Museum (Year 2 science)
  • Lower Moss Wood (Year 2 science)
  • Quarry Bank Mill (Year 2 history)
  • Eureka! National Children’s Museum (Year 1 science)
  • Formby beach (Year 1 geography)
  • Blue Planet Aquarium (Kindergarten/Reception science)
