Fireworks @ Science Club!

We made sparklers from iron filings and made a “fire extinguisher” balloon by reacting vinegar and bicarbonate soda to produce carbon dioxide (same gas found in fire extinguishers) and used it to put out the flame on the candle.

Record LAMDA results at Pownall!

There are record LAMDA results at Pownall this year, with the pupils achieving better than ever before! 66% of entries were Distinction, 34% of which were Merit and 42% of all entries achieved 90 per cent or over, with 22% of all entries (16 children) achieving 95%+!
